Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropic Focus
The Kindly Hearts Initiative
The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our national philanthropic focus of supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Deltas across the country support two Key Impact Organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids, making a national and regional difference under the umbrella of our focus.
Letters of Love
All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub.
Kindly Hearts Initiative:
The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Over 400,000 children are currently placed in foster care and every year an estimated 4.2 million youth experience homelessness. Alpha Xi Delta believes that all children deserve love, support, and the opportunity to realize their potential. Children and youth experiencing foster care or homelessness do not always have access to the foundational needs that will help them accomplish their goals and aspirations. Alpha Xi Delta is dedicated to aiding organizations who provide access to these needs and resources in our local communities and across the country.
To contribute to the Kindly Hearts Initiative, our chapter works with local organizations, such as Tiny House Villages, who provide short term, safe and stable housing for children and their families currently experiencing homelessness. This past October, we partnered with them for their Pumpkin Palooza where we held fun events and had a costume contest with the kids!
Past Philanthropies:
Alpha Xi Delta has supported a variety of philanthropies over its history. In 2022, Alpha Xi Delta partnered with the Kindly Hearts Campaign.
Beginning in Fall of 2021, Alpha Xi Delta focused on service and fundraising to support our local communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We aimed to support students, focus on food insecurities, as well as basic needs shortages during this time. During the 2021-2022 school year we have partnered with St. Vincent De Paul to accomplish our mission!
St. Vincent De Paul Partnership
Through our partnership with St. Vincent De Paul Oshkosh we strived to help those in need in our local community. In the month of October 2021 we displayed our efforts through social media campaigns as well as ending the month with a hygiene drive. We will continue to volunteer at the storefront sorting, organizing, and flooring items. In November 2021 we hosted an "AmaXIng Challenge" to fundraise for the community outreach St. Vincent's does such as providing clothing and household item vouchers, monetary assistance with rent and utilities, as well as providing gas cards and city bus passes to those who request assistance.
Additional Philanthropic Events
Additional events we coordinate throughout the semester may involve group and individual service project opportunities, donation drives, profit share nights at local restaurants, food fundraising events and more! Follow us on social media to see event announcements and information.
